To change Root Password go to the Terminal and type:

sudo passwd

enter the new password when prompted.

To run as Root: sudo -i

To run something as a super user: su

To delete something: rm /directory/object to delete

To copy something: cp

To list the contents of a directory: ls

If you experience X0-lock error when logging in: CTRL+ALT+F1

login as the user/ type: tmpclear / then change to the home

directory of the user press CTRL h /then rm ./authority files

/ then type: startx

To login into the GUI as root from the logon screen press

CTRL+ALT+F1 type username and password. tpye: tmpclear

after tmpclear completes type: startx
